Guy Gilchrist - Home

Guy Gilchrist, syndicated cartoonist of Nancy® and Jim Henson's Muppets, has rekindled his love for writing and performing country music. After 10 years of creating Night Lights & Fairy Flights, Nancy, and MUDPIE, Guy has just finished his second EP recorded with his buddies in Nashville. He wrote the songs, sang lead vocals, and played a mean toy Roy Rogers guitar . Eddie Kilgallon and Jim Matajek from the Montgomery Gentry Band accompany Guy on these three gems of high brow intellectual musical deep meaning. How much deeper can you go emotionally than confessing your undying love for the girl on the cover of the Victoria's Secret catalog? How much deeper do you need to go than a Jim Beam Vulcan MindMeld? Oh, yes...deeper than a kiddy pool at Walmart. Despite his sense of humor and six chord abilities, Guy has opened for Chris Hillman of The Byrds and The Desert Rose Band, played with Charlie Daniels, The Marshall Tucker Band, Dion, Tommy Crain, Michael Buffalo Smith, Sunny Sweeney, and Bronze Radio Returns. Guy's song "I Don't Need You" from his first album, NASHVILLE SONGWRITER SESSIONS got plenty of airtime on WSM in Nashville and WTIC in Hartford,CT as well as England, Australia,and Austin TX, Guy's songs have gained momentum across the country, and the world. Guy has just got back from Nashville, where he cut these three brand new Songs. The new songs are "I'm In Love With The Girl On The Cover Of Victoria's Secret", "Jim Beam Me Up. Scotty", and "I'll Bet You Look Good Naked". He is presently performing, writing, and still drawing his famous cartoons for the newspaper at the same time. But...WHERE does he find the time? "In the back, under the sofa cushions....with some linty JuJubees, a Hot Wheels car, and a 1947 Mercury Head Dime."

I'll be doing an hour or a bit more than that, sharing the stage with host Lorna Flowers, Writers Scott Jarman, and Rick Sandler. Other entertainers that night include Sasha Aaron, Kage and Joe Sanderson as the show goes on till 11 pm. I'll be performing the first hour, and I hope to see you there!
